Service Description

The Oracle Software Framework Agreement is a pan-government contract that allows eligible government agencies to buy new software licences, cloud services and appliances from Oracle under standardised terms.

Existing software licences are able to be transferred to this agreement – talk to the commercial manager or the DIA relationship manager for your agency.

Delivery

Agencies can adopt this agreement by contacting the lead agency, DIA, and signing an affiliate sign up form. Subscribing agencies will meet all procurement obligations and pay a lead agency fee to reflect vendor and contract establishment and management.

The establishment of government agencies as a single customer has created an economy of scale and an ability to negotiate considerable benefits including those listed below.

  • Option for agencies to take up a new, unique support service.

Roadmap

The Oracle licensing agreement commenced in August 2016 and expires in August 2019, with an optional renewal term of two years.

Adopting the service

Eligible agencies can adopt the Oracle Software Framework Agreement by signing an affiliate sign up form.

Eligible agencies are defined by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment’s white list and includes those under the Government Chief Information Officer (GCIO) mandate.

Adopting agencies would be required to undertake procurement obligations, and any risk and assurance requirements when buying new licences or cloud services.

Lead Agency Agreement details

The Department of Internal Affairs has entered into an agreement with Oracle to supply software licences to eligible government agencies. The initial three-year agreement commenced in August 2016 and may be extended for an additional two years.

Agencies using the service

Agencies eligible to adopt this agreement are those defined by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment eligibility criteria.
