The AWS Cloud Framework Agreement is a pan-government contract that allows eligible government agencies to buy public cloud services from AWS under standardised terms.
Benefits
The agreement leverages the scale of New Zealand’s government agencies as a single customer. The agreement will also save agencies time and resources through simplified contractual processes.

Adopting the service
Eligible agencies can adopt the AWS Cloud Framework Agreement by co-signing with AWS an affiliate sign up form available from the lead agency, DIA.
Agencies eligible to adopt this agreement are those defined by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment eligibility criteria.
Adopting agencies would be required to undertake procurement obligations, and any risk and assurance requirements when buying new licences or cloud services.

The Department of Internal Affairs has entered into an agreement with AWS to supply public cloud services to eligible government agencies. The initial three-year agreement commenced on 29 May 2017, and with the option to renew for an additional two years.
