Information Privacy and Security

Following the GCIO Review of Publicly Accessible Information Systems in late 2012 Cabinet directed the GCIO to undertake a range of actions to improve privacy and security capability across the State sector.

New Zealanders need to have trust and confidence that the government takes all aspects of privacy and security seriously.

To ensure there was a sharp and sustained focus on these matters a senior level Governance Group, was established to oversee a targeted two-year programme of work.

Its focus was on enabling ongoing continual improvement of privacy and security across the State services.

The Programme concluded in 2015 and its final report can be found on the State Services Commission website.
