About ICT System Assurance

In June 2013, Cabinet agreed that the Government Chief Information Officer would be responsible for co-ordinated oversight and delivery of system-wide ICT assurance across government.

The GCIO is responsible for giving Ministers system-wide assurance that ICT risks are being identified and well managed by agencies and across government as a whole, and that the benefits of ICT investments are being delivered.
