Information Discovery Process

The Information Discovery Process is designed to assist agencies populate their Information Asset Catalogue but can be used for any information discovery work such as at the start of a project. It enables information to be discovered and structured consistent with the GEA-NZ Data and Information Reference Model and the GEA-NZ Data and Information Reference Taxonomy.

Having an overview of all the information that flows around in an organisation is not always an easy thing to do. What information comes from outside, what information gets manipulated by which system, who needs to receive which information, what additional analysis can you perform on the information you have to identify new opportunities, etc. The Information Discovery Process was developed to do that.
